Color: Gray tabby

Personality

Shy at firstDeeply lovingGentle

Ava joined the Cedar Rise family on July 1st, 2016, alongside her companion Teddy, and together they’ve been filling our hearts ever since. Born in May 2012, this gray tabby beauty came to us as a shy soul who needed time to trust — but once she did, she revealed herself to be one of the most loving cats we’ve ever known.

The Snaggle Tooth Smile

One of Ava’s most endearing features is her signature snaggle tooth smile. That little fang peeking out gives her an expression that’s equal parts adorable and mischievous, even when she’s being perfectly serious.

A Love Worth Waiting For

Ava is shy — there’s no getting around it. New people, loud noises, and unexpected changes send her looking for a quiet spot to observe from a distance. But patience with Ava pays off in ways that words can barely capture.

Once Ava decides you’re trustworthy, she transforms. The shy cat who hid under the bed becomes a purring machine who can’t get close enough. She’ll give you all the love you can take — head bumps, slow blinks, and the kind of deep purrs that vibrate through your whole body. Then she’ll check to make sure you’re still there, and give you even more.

The Cedar Rise Elder

As one of the more senior cats at Cedar Rise, Ava has earned her place as a quiet matriarch. She observes the antics of the younger cats with dignified patience, occasionally joining in when she thinks no one is watching.
